Privacy Policy
Effective: January 1, 2026 · Last updated: May 21, 2026
TL;DR. Fuad is a local-first iOS app. We do not have Fuad accounts, ads, analytics SDKs, or tracking. Prayer location, Qibla, journals, dua requests, counters, profile data, and bookmarks stay on your device. Network access is used only for requested Quran text/audio and reciter catalog, embedded Apple MapKit map tiles, and user-initiated Apple/Google/Yandex map searches.
1. Who we are
Fuad ("the app") is an independent Islamic lifestyle app for iOS developed by Azim Sukhanov ("we," "us," "the developer"). This Privacy Policy covers the app and the companion website at fuadapp.site.
2. Data we collect
We do not collect data on our servers. The app does not create Fuad accounts and does not transmit identifiable data to us or to third parties for marketing, advertising, or analytics purposes.
3. Data that stays on your device
The app stores the following locally on your device only, using iOS-managed storage protected by your device passcode and Apple encryption:
- Preferences: prayer calculation method, madhab, language, theme, selected reciter, and similar settings.
- Location (optional): if you grant location permission, your coordinates are used on-device to calculate prayer times, Qibla direction, and show your position on the map. The embedded map uses Apple MapKit to render map tiles and your local user marker. Fuad does not send your coordinates to a mosque directory or to our servers.
- Muhasaba (self-reflection journal) entries: stored privately on your device. Not backed up to any Fuad server. If you enable iCloud Backup in iOS settings, Apple may include app data in your device backup under your Apple ID and iCloud settings. Apple may hold backup keys unless Advanced Data Protection is enabled; we have no access.
- Dhikr counters, Quran bookmarks, notes, fasting, tasbih, niyyah, private dua requests, profile name, and profile photo: stored locally on your device.
4. Network requests the app makes
The app may make the following network requests. Fuad does not include your account details, user-created content, coordinates, advertising identifiers, or analytics payloads in these requests:
- Quran text and translations: when you open Quran reading, the app requests Arabic text, translations, and transliteration from quran.com.
- Quran audio streaming: when you open Quran audio features, the app may request the reciter catalog from mp3quran.net; when you play a recitation, the app streams audio from mp3quran.net and Quran audio files/CDNs such as verses.quran.com. These providers may process request metadata such as IP address, requested chapter, reciter catalog language, and locale under their own policies — we do not receive those logs.
- Maps: the mosque screen embeds Apple MapKit, which may cause Apple to process map tile and device request metadata under Apple's terms. Fuad does not send your coordinates to a mosque directory. If you tap “Search in Maps,” Fuad opens Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Yandex Maps with a generic mosque search query only. The selected maps provider then handles that search under its own privacy terms.
- Community Duas: dua requests are stored locally on your device only and are not uploaded to Fuad or any public database.
- App Store purchases: Fuad currently has no active in-app purchases. If purchases become available later, they will be handled by Apple StoreKit — we never see your payment data.
Fuad-controlled network requests use HTTPS/TLS. External map app handoffs may use installed app URL schemes or HTTPS fallbacks and are handled by the selected maps provider after user action.
5. Analytics and crash reporting
We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, AppsFlyer, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or any equivalent third-party analytics SDK.
If Apple's default anonymous crash reporting is enabled by you in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports. These reports are provided by Apple under their privacy terms and do not include personally identifiable information.
6. Third-party services
The app does not integrate third-party trackers or advertising networks. External content is limited to requested Quran text/audio and reciter catalog, Apple MapKit map tiles, and user-initiated Apple/Google/Yandex map searches.
7. Payments
Fuad does not collect payment information. If optional premium features become available in the future, payments will be processed entirely by Apple through the standard App Store in-app purchase system under Apple's privacy terms. We never see your payment method, card details, or billing address.
8. Children's privacy
The app is safe for all ages and contains no advertising or chat. Community Duas are local user-generated text stored only on your device; the submit UI still warns users not to include unnecessary private details.
9. Data retention and deletion
Local data can be deleted by removing entries in the app or uninstalling Fuad. Since Community Duas are stored only on your device, there is no public server copy for us to remove.
10. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, UK GDPR, etc.)
Since we do not operate user accounts, analytics servers, or public Community Dua storage, there is no Fuad account profile for us to export. For privacy questions, contact sukhanovazim@gmail.com.
11. Security
All app data is protected by iOS's built-in encryption and your device passcode. The companion website (fuadapp.site) is served exclusively over HTTPS with modern TLS (1.2+), HSTS, and no tracking scripts.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy materially changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and publish the updated version at this URL. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
