Privacy Policy
Effective: January 1, 2026 · Last updated: April 24, 2026
TL;DR. Fuad is a local-first iOS app. We do not have user accounts. We do not run analytics servers. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information. Everything you do in Fuad stays on your device.
1. Who we are
Fuad ("the app") is an independent Islamic lifestyle app for iOS developed by Azim Sukhanov ("we," "us," "the developer"). This Privacy Policy covers the app and the companion website at fuadapp.site.
2. Data we collect
None. The app does not create accounts, does not require sign-in, and does not transmit identifiable data to our servers or to third parties for marketing, advertising, or analytics purposes.
3. Data that stays on your device
The app stores the following locally on your device only, using iOS-managed storage protected by your device passcode and Apple encryption:
- Preferences: prayer calculation method, madhab, language, theme, selected reciter, and similar settings.
- Location (optional): if you grant location permission, your coordinates are used on-device to calculate prayer times, Qibla direction, and to select appropriate hijri calendar adjustments. Location is never transmitted to our servers.
- Muhasaba (self-reflection journal) entries: stored privately on your device. Not backed up to any server. If you enable iCloud backup in iOS settings, your entries are backed up through Apple's end-to-end encrypted iCloud under your Apple ID — we have no access.
- Dhikr counters and bookmarks: stored locally.
4. Network requests the app makes
The app may make the following network requests, none of which include personally identifying information:
- Quran audio streaming: when you play a recitation, the app streams audio directly from publicly available Quran audio CDNs (such as everyayah.com and equivalent providers). These providers may log your IP address per their own policies — we do not control or receive those logs.
- Anonymous hijri date sync: optionally, the app may fetch the current hijri date from a public API. No identifier is attached to the request.
- App Store purchases (if any future feature is introduced): handled entirely by Apple StoreKit — we never see your payment data.
All outgoing requests use HTTPS/TLS.
5. Analytics and crash reporting
We do not use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Facebook SDK, AppsFlyer, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or any equivalent third-party analytics SDK.
If Apple's default anonymous crash reporting is enabled by you in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports. These reports are provided by Apple under their privacy terms and do not include personally identifiable information.
6. Third-party services
The app does not integrate third-party trackers or advertising networks. The only external content is the Quran audio fetched on-demand from public recitation providers. The app works fully offline once recitations are cached.
7. Payments
Fuad does not collect payment information. If optional premium features become available in the future, payments will be processed entirely by Apple through the standard App Store in-app purchase system under Apple's privacy terms. We never see your payment method, card details, or billing address.
8. Children's privacy
The app is safe for all ages and contains no advertising, no chat, and no user-generated content visible to others. Because we collect no data at all, there is no age-specific data handling.
9. Data retention and deletion
Because no data leaves your device, deletion is immediate and complete: uninstalling the app from iOS removes all app data from your device. There is nothing to request from us.
10. Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, UK GDPR, etc.)
Since we do not collect personal data, there is no data for us to access, rectify, export, restrict, or delete on your behalf. You retain full control locally on your device.
11. Security
All app data is protected by iOS's built-in encryption and your device passcode. The companion website (fuadapp.site) is served exclusively over HTTPS with modern TLS (1.2+), HSTS, and no tracking scripts.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy materially changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and publish the updated version at this URL. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
